On 4th May 2020 the first Future Generations Report was published by the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, Sophie Howe, as part of her statutory duties. The report was published under the 2016 to 2021 administration of the Welsh Government and marked 5 years since the Well-being of the Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 became law.
This report sets out the achievements and recommendations for improvement and allows the Commissioner to monitor and assess the extent to which Well-being objectives set by public bodies are being met. The report is addressed to the Welsh Government and all public bodies covered by the act.
As required by the Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015, the Auditor General for Wales has also published his report on the results of his sustainable development principle examinations. Together, these reports describe how public bodies in Wales are applying the Act.
