We were very sorry to hear of the death of Malcolm Aickin in December 2024, a former long-serving and dedicated trustee of FDSD. Malcolm was one of the founders of the Environment Foundation in 1982 and joined us in transforming that into FDSD before retiring as a trustee in 2010. He was one of those through whose efforts and determination the Charity Commission finally recognized sustainable development as a charitable objective. Malcolm also served as Chair of the Environment Council from 1982 to 2013, and Chair of the RSA Environment Awards Forum from 1982 to 2024. He will be greatly missed.
